New Campaign Against Endangered Species Trade Expands to China’s Highway Checkpoints.

ARREST-Newsletter_01_July-Sept-2012-21CI-logoARREST Partner, CI-China, and Chinese authorities are joining forces on a new campaign to combat illegal wildlife trafficking in hot spots.

In early July 2012, displays encouraging people to join the fight against endangered species trade were installed at three key checkpoints at the border between China’s Guangxi Province and Vietnam. Known as trans-national illegal wildlife trade hotspots, Dongxing, Youyiguan and Longbang checkpoints were chosen to host the new advisories.

The advisories, which include messages in Chinese, Burmese, English, Vietnamese, and Lao languages, will expand on an earlier campaign that saw the launch of light-box ads in Guangxi’s international airports as well as Dongxing Port, Youyiguan Port, and Longbang Port.
